The rename object dialog box

The process of renaming objects has been massively improved with Zamasing, by offering a powerful rename dialog.

Renaming Objects

Renaming objects via the classic ZMI may lead to site errors. For example when duplicate IDs are used or ID naming conventions are violated. Zamasing avoids such errors by checking the constraints online before the user can commit changes.

Standard Rename Objects Dialog After one or more checkboxes located next to the IDs are checked, the RENAME button becomes enabled in the Zamasing button bar. When the user clicks on RENAME, a pop-up dialog appears and IDs previously checked can be changed easily.
ID naming convention When a new ID is entered, Zamasing checks for any constraint violations and displays an error message in case.
Duplicate ID An error message is displayed if the user enters a duplicate ID.
